At 16 years old, most teenagers are more concerned with exams & partying than preparing themselves for a fruitful music career. Japanese Wallpaper is not your typical teenager.

Japanese Wallpaper’s love affair with production began aged 13 on a lengthy family holiday. This initial foray resulted in an EP of demo’s, War Peace Rocket Ships, demonstrating maturity well beyond his years and drawing comparisons with ambient masters Boards of Canada and Tycho as well as praise from a slew of industry heavyweights such as Bombay Bicycle Club, Chet Faker and Gotye.
Breathe In, features the delicate vocals of Brisbane’s Wafia, with whom Japanese Wallpaper previously collaborated on a remix of her original Alice.

“Beautiful track from young Melbourne producer Japanese Wallpaper” – Gotye

“His track “Breathe In” is a wonderland of tension free atmospheric bliss. After a long day at the office, “Breathe In” can help restore tranquility to your life.” – Earmilk

“It’s a effort of extreme restraint that doesn’t allow itself a Pavlovian drop where plenty of other Australian laptop-jockeys give in.” – Sound Doctrine
